From Hayes Valley to Angels's Camp

We've been friends for so long and I don't remember having a picture of the 4 of us together. So here it is finally. What cuties.

Finally got to Goa Gil - and AG is de-virginized. Got there at 8pm just as the sun was setting and enough time to find the crew, set up camp and hang out until midnight. Then everyone took a good 4 hour nap, got up an hour before sunrise and started our partying. Everyone left Sunday evening except for us - we stayed behind for some good R&R. it felt amazing to reconnect with the earth, with the trees... with no music.
We made a little fire, watched the stars then fell fast asleep.

Here is Elaine - covered - running from the mosquitos who were not giving up a good meal.

XT's move

Saturday morning AG and I met up with Rachel/CC, Smesh, Chris and XT to help her move. Rachel and XT presented gifts of matching firefly and BM jewelry commissioned by their friend Thea. Beautiful, I was so so touched. I love well though out gifts, symbolic of our last summer seeing fireflies at Pat Benatar concert.

It didn't take long to move her things into the truck and outta the house. The boys were well organized and motivated.

XT gave me her baby plant to take care of... I think this is the one I've been looking for to hang in the bathroom. We took some silly pictures and before you know it, the boys had everything together and we were done...

Time to get our stuff together for Goa Gil and camping for the weekend.

The Vietnamese Chef has arrived!

I've been going Amazon-crazy lately purchasing 3 Vietnamese cookbooks and 6 books on finance, investing, etc. I have been putting them all to good use though. Here are two favorite dishes so far.. one being the Shrimp salad we always order from our little restaurant, Thanh Tam... on Valencia and 16th... nice colors huh? And the other dish is the Bun that XT loves so much.. hey honey, mine's even better than theirs!!! I'll make it for you before you take off. Looks good huh? Maybe I should put my recipes together and take pictures and publish a cookbook? Oh thank god today is Friday. The weather's been gorgeous and I haven't had any inclination to work. Life is just too much fun to stay indoors and read telecom contracts ;(. AG and I have been also going crazy on netflix and last night we watched Ong-Bak the Thai Warrior. Tony Jaa is martial arts beauty and power in motion. AG and I had to pick up our jaws on some of his moves, which we found out later, he came up with himself. There were 3 specific moments that I cannot forget - some of his foot works are the best I've ever seen. Highly recommended.  Posted by Picasa

How Weird Street Fair

After a couple hours of sleep and recovery from Shelaine's house warming, AG and I got up and met Sherman/Tram for brunch down south. Afterwards we visited their place and saw video footage of their wedding.

Came home, did a quick clean and rushed to How Weird Street Fair. Shelaine described this as one of her favorite street fairs in SF and we've never been, so I was very curious as to why. They had a couple of fun street vendors such as the Vagina Lady with furry vaginas... but nothing to write home about.
I thought this hairy one was quite interesting...

AG and I had no idea how to get a hold of the usual suspects, but as we walked around and listened to some of the music, we knew they'd eventually show up if we hung around the the right music... and voila, they are so predictable.
Puyish was a find though! Posted by Picasa

Shelaine's House Warming

A little over a year after they've moved in and $50k+ later, Shelaine had their housewarming this weekend. It looked incredible, and they are incredible host/hostess. I was hoping Elaine would outdo me in the scarce clothing department, but every once in awhile - she surprises me.

Many of the crew were there - and I stayed until 4:30AM. Even AG was a trooper - he got there at around 3am after a tough recovery from Cinquo de Mayo on Friday. Here are some of my favorite moments - the rest are on flickr at www.flickr.com/groups/campalicious/pool/ Raphael cracks me up. Posted by Picasa

Baby Lance

It's probably not PC to say it this way, but colored and multi-racial babies are the cuties babies in the world. He's darling, there's just something about them, maybe it's because I'm Asian, but I know a lot of other people who feel the same.

Besides Thuy's two boys who are now 10 and 12, he's the only other boy that my friends are having - oops i did forget Nathan. But in general, my friends are all having girls... nothing wrong with that, and I've always wanted a little girl myself, but this little boy is PRECIOUS. Lance is half Vientamese and half Japanese. I love his almond eyes, I love his skin... and his cute little nose, but most of all, he just looks different and exotic.

I can't wait to see his personality. I'm intrigued by him. I'm surprised at my immediately emotional attachment to him just through pictures.

His cheeks have gotten so chubby since birth.... hrm, I think I'm falling in love with him...Is that what happens to moms and their sons and fathers and daughters? Posted by Picasa

Palatial Dreamland

So AG and I have been busy redecorating our abode. And of course I'm very into my bed because:
1. I love red - the red canopy itself was purchased for me by a good friend, smesh
2. there are satin sheets made from Vietnam underneath
3. we have pillows from India
4. the top gold silk coverlet is a valentine's gift from AG - made in Cambodia
5. the top canopy was purchased on our Thailand trip

I believe the bedroom is an extension of oneself - the bed in particular should express a part of your soul. This is my fabric/color-indulgent creative BM self meets wanna-be-soul-world-universal-flow traveler self. Posted by Picasa

Friday Night at Dosa's

Friday we hung out with Sandy/Carla - after a 3 month hiatus. While waiting for a table at the popular south Indian restaurant Dosa's www.dosasf.com on 21st and Valencia, we hijacked to the Velvet Canteen on 23rd street. It's a new Mexican bar/restaurant that has great fruit margarita's. We ordered a raspberry margarita, but ended up with blueberry instead - tasty.

Here's the boys trying to give us a good rendition of the "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil."

And in return, for their amusement, Carla and I puckered up.

Carla and I were roommates at the notrious Dorland house. Notorious because we only lived there for 6 months and so much happened. I had a very sexy lingerie party there and lots of eerie spooky things happened to all of us. We heard voices at night whispering in our ears, we had bad dreams, and we always felt watched. I hated going home and spending the night by myself. It was a very dark time in my life. I was laid off, broken up and going through the darkest parts of my Saturn Return. To this day I wondered if living in that house had any influence on what happened to me.

The minute I moved out of there and into the De Haro house, everything changed quickly. Life was bright again, and I started working, even if it was temporary. More importantly my hopes and dreams returned. I was planning a 3 month trip to Thailand until I started working for Veritas... and the rest is history. Carla and I had our moments as roommates, and became closer once we moved out.

Now, she's married to Sandy with a 9 month baby Nathan. They are one of our favorite couples to hang out with. Sandy - the ever herb lover, and Carla who is a little kookie. But I love crazy people, they are so fun to hang out with. Posted by Picasa
