A little dancing, a wedding and some carnival

Thursday XT flew in and the girls came over early and hung out with me, then we surprised XT by picking her up at the airport with tiara's. Hung out until midnight - catching up before her beau Scott arrived the next day.

Friday night we met up with the crew at little Baobab's for a little mixing and dancing. AG and I hadn't done that in ages. Throughout the weekend we got to meet and visit with Scott more and he's such a great guy. I'm so happy they found each other. I really enjoyed discussing books and raw foods with him. He's extremely intelligent, thoughtful and considerate, and he makes XT super happy. So what can I say except, when's the freaking wedding? Just kidding XT, all in good time.

Saturday we rallied to London & Neil's wedding in Sausalito. The weather was blustery but inside the Women's Club it was warm and intimate and just beautifully done. We received a copy of Nhan Thit Than's (sp?) book on community - one of my favorite wedding favors ever - how beautiful. The dinner was catered by a sustainable, organic caterer. So tastefully done. London looked gorgeous, I love the tatoo's on her back. We had the opportunity to hang out with the old Numinosum crowd, catching up and seeing everyone in their fine clothes. London actually said I looked like a "Knocked up prom date." I love it.

The wedding party had taken up at the Alta Mira Inn and we headed back there for more revelry. Unfortunately, AG and I could only bask in the revelry but the belly got a lot of rubbing and much discussion.

Sunday morning we woke up early to hang out with our neighbors Simon & Christie for Carnival - 1.5 blocks from our house, followed by a bbq upstairs. Ate my first burger in 5 years. (more pictures to be found at my www.flickr.com/photos/miboni) Then my nesting urges kicked in and we moved furniture in the living room and office around all day Monday - to my satisfaction. My next plan of attack will be the bedroom and the kitchen - oh I just can't wait. I need a change of bedroom scenery.

We leave tomorrow night for NJ to attend Sashilya's wedding - and I get to meet Jeven Kelly - pictures to come. On the pregnancy front - we are finishing our 25th week and next week is our 26th - which means I'm in my 3rd trimester. AG and I signed up for birthing classes beginning July 19th on 25th and Velancia called Natural Resources. I have my 5th doctor's appointment tomorrow and am looking into options for having Baby G delivered at Kaiser Walnut Creek which has the best birthing center in the bay area. Also researching cranial sachrum services for me and Baby G which I'm super excited about. Yes, she's been quite active and all times of the day and night now. I've given up tracking her waking periods. Life will be at warp speed for the month of June and hopefully will slow down for us to prepare for her coming.

Bay2Breakers 2007

Thursday night we sauntered to Limon's to celebrate Zach's 36th. He's also a piggy... so many of them all over. The food was rich, but fantastic. More pictures at flickr. Friday night Zach, Sid & Gina came over to watch our Suns lose their series. Ugh, the two teams I wanted to win are out.

Saturday AG and I spent a good deal running around, renting a truck - he and Zach picked up desk from work. Then AG and I rearranged the office until midnight before we finally collapsed in front of the TV in a vegative state... we treated ourselves to a pint of Karamel Sutra...
The next morning, we got up - dressed - and headed out to Bay2Breakers. Since the race had already started, we drove to upper Haight and parked before merging with the party goers in the Park for the next 3 miles.

The revelry was in high gear. The closer to the end of the race we got, the more bodies we saw sprawled on the lawns. So many beautiful costumes and people, everyone was in such high spirits. The weather was warm and gorgeous and we found some very cute pink flamingo girls and Elvis' to take pictures with.
We finally stopped at 30th and Kennedy for the House of Lotus party. They had a great sound system blasting and Margo/Maddick found us there. We all hung out in the sun listening to great music and enjoying the entourage of people and costumes parade by. The energy was drunk but very fun and we got a lot of support (especially from men) for the belly.

A couple of people thought my belly was fake. By the time we got home AG was sunburnt and didn't know it. Hitched a ride from Margo back to upper Haight to dine at our fav Thai restaurant Best of Thai before heading home to pick up the truck and drive to Alameda for baby stuff. From Helena and Wunder, we retrieved a crib, changing table and bag of clothes. I'm excited to paint the crib next weekend - I'm thinking Red of course. Maybe we will motivate and rearrange the bedroom too.

Week 23 and 2nd Ultrasound pictures

For those who don't think in weeks, I've completed 5.5 months and we are heading into month 6 by June. We had our ultrasound pictures Thursday, it's a little difficult to see Baby G - but this is her - chunkier than when we last saw her 4 weeks ago - weighing in at 1lb 2oz (gained 10oz). Her legs look like drumsticks. I think she was sleeping when we went in for the ultrasound - she was slightly moving, but nothing compared to her activities of late.

I've been able to track some of her sleeping patterns - aka reverse tracking I guess - I can track when she's awake from her activities. Almost on cue at 9:15pm she's kicking for a good 15 minutes - intermittently of course. But more and more, she appears to be awake more often than sleeping. The kicks are getting stronger, not painful (yet) but definitely shocked me a couple of times - the little devil.

There's a possibility that I'm mistaking many of her kicks for hiccups. Yes, she's hiccupping. The following is from BabyCenter: "

He or she is continuing to develop facial features and you are probably feeling a lot of movement as your baby continues to explore its body and world in the comfort of his or her own personal "living womb." Your baby now has eyes that open and close, ears that can hear, and a thumb well worth sucking. If you notice feel your baby making regular, jerky movements, don't panic - your baby has the hiccups! The hiccups are harmless for baby but can be annoying for you if they last for a long period of time."

This weekend (and probably next) we spent tying up loose ends, cleaning house and garage to make more room for the new roommate.

Carla got me this card - and I thought it was hysterical - as well as a pair of cute pink/grey mice slippers for Baby G.

I had written a huge blog Friday about Mother's day etc. and how special it is now that I'm a new mommy - but I lost it towards the end. AG got me 2 dozen red roses for mother's day - and put together some storage units for the garage and cleaned up the house - which is a special gift. We had a great weekend together - even though we aren't out partying late at nights anymore.

Next weekend is Bay2Breakers and we do plan on sharing in the festivities - I might even dress AG and I up for this event. Maybe even the pups - maybe.... they are a handful sometimes.

How Weird Street Fair Weekend

Another scorching weekend. Friday night - I hung out with the girls, having dinner at Ramblas then over to Tameeza's for dessert. Saturday, I piggy backed on Andy/Allison's plans to Dolores Park with the pups to enjoy music and people watching for Cinquo de Mayo.

After a full day at the park, came home and we ordered the boxing fight. I'm not a huge fan, and I must say, I'm still not a huge fan. But it was fun hanging out with Andy and his friends. I can see how guys could get into it.

I passed out early.

Next day - I was up and ready for the How Weird Street Fair. I entered the Fair by myself and ran into Sashilya within 10 minutes. I had tried to meet up with several peeps, but the crowd and the music was too intense. But I always run into Sashilya, even at BM - with 35,000 people and 3 miles to range, we always find them. There must be something magnetic there.
Anyways it was scorching hot - probably in the low 90s in SF. I hadn't been out dancing since NYE... can you believe that? Anyways, the baby loved the music - all that bass and the people. I think we need to take her out to more music activities. I almost forgot I was pregnant - the bellly hasn't been too burdensome - especially since I'm not eating huge meals at a time anymore (learned my lesson). On the way home, I stopped at Rainbow's to get some groceries and saw Michael Franti and his family out shopping. I wanted to come up and say hi - but I truly believe in privacy and just couldn't get myself to do it when he's with his family.

AG comes home today, yay! It feels like a month. Yesterday and today was another record breaking temperature in SF - I love it. My skin's made for the hot tropical climate. Baby G has been kicking up storms and not just at night anymore - all times of the day. Her strongest kicks are in the morning and evenings - and my belly button is about to become an outtie. This is week 22.

Oh gosh, I almost forgot - Ven/Jen's baby - Jeven Michael Kelly was born May 1st at 7:19pm weighing in at a whopping 10lbs 14.2oz. God that scares me.

Week 21

Last weekend was gorgeous. Took the pups out to Dolores Park Thursday - Sunday. Saturday morning, met up with Kerry and Rachel at the Farmer's market - Ferry building on Embarcadero. It was 85 degrees out. Finally had an opportunity to wear a halter top - now that I have something to hold it up ;).
We ate and leisurely strolled the stalls checking out beautiful organic fruits, berries and such. Smelled wonderful food stands and I even got a sticky bun. This delicious chocolate cake was riiiiichhhh...

After we parted ways, I went shopping for maternity clothes - but of course not at maternity stores - I just couldn't do it. I'm hoping I can still get away with regular clothes that fit and hug my new curves - and I can use them after baby cames.

Saturday night I spent by myself, watching tv with the pups on my lap and heading to bed early. Sunday evening I had dinner with Shelaine who were quite impressed with my new physique. I also posted a picture of Marina and her mama - Lenira who KC and I happened to run into at le Colonial Friday for dinner. They both looked fabulous.

I have now hit the 140lb mark which means I've gained 15lbs, just another 20 more to go. Oh golly.

Margo came over Tuesday night to watch the Warriors vs. Mav's game and we had a blast catching up. She's quite a hoot. Tonight I have dinner plans with Padma and to see the renovations of her condo. Hopefully, I'll catch the last part of the game tonight... I can't believe I haven't posted about my Warriors. We're finally getting some RESPECT now that we are playing like warriors and upsetting the #1 team in the league. Andy - our Dirk roommate look-a-like sent this sports column to us - it's hilarious; http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/blog/index?name=simmons.
