We left Tuesday evening, got our ticket from Ms. Lapinsky and Sasha... fortunately I saw their ad on Craigslist (love that site), called Sasha immediately and voila, we picked up our ticket that evening at 11pm. Headed to Oakland to drop off the puppies in the safe hands of Rachel and CC.
August 31 - Wed: Checked into Harrah's at 4am and crashed out. Woke up Wednesday morning leisurely, stopped off at the buffet, ran errands and made it into camp by 5pm. Set up camp, had dinner at Numinosum, then hung out till past 1am with Brimeeza, Kerryism and AmyDesign. For a Wednesday, most of the theme camps were set up and everyone was on the playa. The weather gods favored us, no winds, a little chilly but clear. Went to bed after 1am, just in time to meet Nafysa and Salim... they were the sweetest couple - and it was their first burn.
Sept. 1 - Thurs: rode around and found Zach/Maddox/Margo as well as the Campalicious crew. Hung out with Sion/Elaine in the morning, then got ready for Pete/Katia's wedding. Arrived at Campalicious by 4pm. At 6pm, we headed to the man, then proceeded to the temple for the blessings. Discovered that Katia is now pregnant (oh my). After the wedding, we were escorted via bus to the border of the playa (which was not where we wanted to go). Everyone was drunk and happy, AG and I wanted to go home and eat - so we walked back to camp (approximately 1.5-2 miles) in painful boots. Got home just in time for dinner, then headed to Sion/Elaine for a night out. Walked all night - ran into Sasha/Michelle at Lotus then headed back to Transcendence for CPU. Unfortunately, our night was cut short due to the raging winds that brought down the towers. Thankfully no one was hurt. Sapna showed up around 4am... we hung out with everyone for a bit, then headed home as the sun was rising. Smoked a little, took an ambian and headed into our tent.
Sept. 2 - Fri: Woke up groggy, but ready for breakfast. After camp meeting, we headed to Camp Ladybug to find Zach/Maddox. Also stopped by Giraffe camp (Ilya/Sasha's)- sent AG off to get ice and then prepared for the Margarita party which turned out to be a smashing success. All our friends were there, and the drinks flowed until 6pm. AG and I were exhausted and decided to nap. Woke up at around 2-3am, managed to motivate and check out the playa. Ran into Maddox at Oppulent Temple. We headed home by the time the sun was rising.
Sept. 3 - Sat: Can't remember too much at this point. Except that we rode around our bikes with Sion/Elaine. Went to the Deep End, found Ilya - then Zach. Headed home, and began getting ready. We finished dinner (which was orgasmic - spicy chicken soup with corn on the cop and lots of lovely veggies, baked halibat, shrimp salad)... AG and I took off with our bikes and watched the burn by ourselves. And waited for all of our friends at House of Lotus. Everyone was there, it was fantastic. I had the best conversations with Maddox and Zach, Elida - we all had a blast. At around 3am, AG and I went to the temple of Dreams to spend quality time talking about our future. Then we met up with Sion/Elaine and Sapna at Oppulent Temple (the music wasn't the best) - so walked over to Transcendence to listen to CPU, that was the best music I heard all week. Stayed until 9-10am.... then ran home to sleep.
Setp. 4 - Sun: Woke up around 11am, helped pack up camp. Everyone left by 5, and AG and I left right after the sun went down (around 7pm). Rolled into Reno by 11pm, checked into a hotel by midnight, gambled until 3am.. then slept. Got home by 7pm.
Since then, I've been brain dead.
